1. General information
The OBU takes care of most of the log-on procedure for you. The units transmit the journey data and the vehicle characteristics required for toll collection to Toll Collect. The toll is then calculated.
The following is entered into the OBU:
- Weight
- Number of axles
- Cost centre
The OBU switches on automatically when the ignition is started. For this to happen, the OBU must be connected to the vehicle electrical system. The unit prompts you to check the vehicle data entered and adjust it if necessary.
The vehicle data prompt display disappears as soon as the vehicle begins to move. The display automatically switches to operating mode. If no new vehicle data is entered, the set number of axles and vehicle weight from the previous journey are adopted.
